Earth and Space category winner: Galactic Paradise by Tunç Tezel

In September 2011, the Royal Observatory Greenwich announced the winners of their Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2012 competition. Even though I don’t quite believe what they say about the moon and the horizon, these are incredible photos–they remind me I live on a planet, orbiting around a star in the vast emptiness of space.
